I'm in the middle of a Engine re assembly at this minute, would be more than happy to share that with a couch potato,,,,, anything to get people some real life experience and off the computer where people seem to live there life....
The bloke is a pretty well respected motoring journalists with an engineering background - pretty knowledgeable when it comes to cars .
probably one of the best around when it comes to explaining automotive stuff .

I know I've been keeping my boat tanks full since 2006 when I bought my first 4 stroke ....... never had an issue with fuel going stale despite the odd lay up period when I've had two boats ...... 12 months + ..... turn the key & those yammis have fired up & run perfectly. So I am speaking from experience & old mate is just confirming what I've found to be true .

I'll leave my views on octane rating alone but back to the original op, oil has dropped back about $35 a barrel if not more but the price at the bowser isn't budging.
Must mean we might be getting ripped off??...
My local today has dropped 10c today - to $1-97. That will be the new norm. The petrol companies never drop back to where they should after we have temporary rises.

As for John Cadogan - He has had regular TV & Radio spots - written for newspapers , motoring magazines over a 25 year period - ...... I think that qualifies him as reputable.
I originally listened to the bloke on 2UE where he had a regular spot on John Stanleys afternoon program ..... we are talking the mid 2000s . I've been watching his Youtube clips for a several years now some that I have shared here over the past few years. .......... so nah , this wasn't the first thing to come up .

If I tried that with my customers (keeping in mind that commodity plastics are pegged to oil ) I would be shot . We typically quote on new stock which will take several weeks or months to arrive from placement of order) .

This is the boating chat section...Chris, despite being a bit of a know it all, that I often dont agree with, actually contributes quite a bit to the forum on a number of different topics..
Why dont you show us some photo's of your boat rebuild or something positive ..
