Ex Wobligong lad here mate and know the area well. Yep hope all goes well n stay safe ey.
Retirement dream would have been the Hawksberry or Eden area but once you have Children and Grandchildren close by then Happyrock ends up where i lay my Pillow down lol.
Still getting my share of the Fish here so cant complain ey.
As for the rain flood events up this way i think evryone feels for those effected and sure at days ebnd there will be appeals to help those less fortunate who may not have had Insurance etc or at least i hope theree are appeals!!..

Hard for us southerners to comprehend 1200mm !! Have stayed with the inlaws up that way during one rainy season, they were living up just passed Kuranda at the time, pretty eye opening if you haven't experienced that volume of rain before, glad your up high and dry....

1700 mm up at mount Nebo as well , it was just non stop for 3 days . Heading out tomorrow to help with the clean up as the river goes down , some people have lost everything and have only just recovered from 2011 and didn’t have flood insurance so some of them are hurting bad . Matt

We are in Manly (yes the QLD one) and had around 1300 from Friday night to Sunday night. Water came up through the slab in the TV room downstairs. Pulled the carpet Saturday. Was 3 - 5 cm deep so nothing compared to what others are dealing with but enough to keep me busy over the weekend.
