Can anyone recommend me a good quality rain jacket that is comfortable to fish in for hours at a time but keeps you nice and dry? I’ve had Marlin and TEAM before but after something better quality.
Thanks in advance

Buy industrial quality from one of the workwear places.
I paid $80 each for mine but very comfortable, dry, lined and great quality.
Jack.
And half the price of the ones marketed for outdoors activity. I worked for an energy company and they had some very good specs and it was surprising the price we got them for.
Remember Ray Bans, we were getting them for $7 street market add a hundred or two. Ridiculous, marketing will always suck in the majority.
A bib n brace pants makes it so much better and a pair of gumboots
hunters elements does good jackets that are comfortable but won’t last like a industrial fishing type jacket
I go comfort over longevity
It depends on where you are fishing - what works well down south will probably be a nightmare up north .
Over about the last 20 years I've bought military surplus gear - These are based on a Gore-tex material which is lightweight / breathable making it half decent in hot climates .
There are various options from light weight through to heavier ones which can have an inner soft shell incorporated .
I've used this stuff in the tropics & down in the Aust alps in winter .
you can also get pants as well
You can buy this gear on Ebay (the international site is best)......prices vary considerably though .

Give a man a fish & he will eat for a day !
Teach him how to fish
& he will sit in a boat - & drink beer all day!

I use a Burke 3/4 jacket so the rain doesnt drip down my coin box. Combine with wet pants when required for a long session. WOrk pretty well. WHitworths have them usually at least that's where I get them from.
Thanks for the responses guys. I am in Queensland so I want something that won’t get too hot but it will need to be able to handle plenty of boat spray. I will have a look at all the options you all suggested.
Bit hard in Queensland mate ,I live here and have tried a number of options and you end up just as wet from sweat when you wear a jacket , the best option I’ve found so far at least when it cools of is a wetsuit rubber style I got from the Mad Hueys off shore collection . The light weight ones I’ve bought from Daiwa and a couple of cheaper versions have had me sweating so much I might as well not bothered . Matt
A bad days fishing has got to be better than any day at work......
Tried a lot but I have a nice Stormline jacket and bib now - really good plus their available in "Man" Sizes

I have a Burke 3/4 also. You can get them from most big brand stores on sale from time to time. Works well. I found the sizing weird.

I spent thirty seven years in the energy industry as well ( Linesman) and have worked in some crap weather over the years, up poles at all hours of the night in the pouring rain. We were issued good quality rain gear but I don't think any brand or type of raincoat is completely waterproof , you will still get wet. A good raincoat maybe shower proof but not waterproof. I have found that a good pair of gumboots combined with wet weather pants and raincoat offers best protection and the wet weather pants must be pulled over the gumboots, not tucked inside. If you can keep your feet/sox dry then you will feel much better.
