Boomer Anchor

Has anyone here tried one of these anchors or would like to offer an opinion
They seem to work well in the videos and have a shear pin release if it gets stuck, I'm thinking about trying one after getting my grapnel stuck in 40 metres of water and a scary moment with some rough water

I can see this being useful fishing reef day time and then anchoring overnight in a sandy lagoon without having to change anchor. I use a Mooloolaba Pick which works well although I had to go to a 16lb instead of a 9 lb as it was a bit too light, I notice the Boomer is just over 9 lb but as I haven't tried it i wouldn't know, be a pain to lose one at $420 ea.

Hopefully you wouldn't lose it too easily due to the way it trips but if you did lose it, $420 would hurt for sure
I like the way you can pull the pin and fold it up for storage which would suit me as I have an aluminium canopy on the ute and can't have an anchor hanging over the bowsprit because they would clash
Currently I have to take the grapnel out of the front roller and hook it over the bowrail with the other end in the anchor well, I'd still have to do the same with this but it would be easier to store
Mind you at that cost you'd want to put a padlock on it

My diver friends who find anchors tell me either the chain has wrapped around a bommie or the heel of the anchor has wedged into the reef. My concern is that in both of those scenarios the pin won't save the anchor and I would prefer to rely on my current setup. I've lost a few anchors over time including a Sarca on its first trip out and it was supposed to prevent that happening. Still an interesting concept.
