that to seat the cups and I use a brass drift to remove the old ones

how about you just use the old outer race bearing, run a grinder through one side reducing approx 1-2mm of material from the cut and believe it or not you have the perfect bearing seating tool....

That's all I have ever done, just grind the two sizes of old cups down a fraction so they are a slip fit, chuck in toolbox to re-use forever.

Not on the boat but I bought myself a bearing seating tool today
I don’t want to overstate how awesome they are but let’s just say they are awesome
no more putting a sharp edge on a brass drift

did my box trailer bearings in 1/3 the time

I was pleased that I bought my set last year .... made the job a hell of a lot easier & hey you'll have them for yonks

No need to grind down old races - just drag out the right tool for the job.

My Garmin GPSMap 8412 and GT56. I can actually see what species of fish are there way out to the sides and cover a lot of distance on sidevu. Knowing that fish are actually there before fishing for them has been fantastic.
