    IQF .... Instant quick frozen

Usually a better quality pilchard - but have noticed a decline & is now a roll of the dice. The bloke at Evans Hd repacks into 2kg bags ..... you see the difference to the blocks .
We buy blocks for cubing & use the IQF for our bait

Individually Quick Frozen I think it stands for. Instant could still be a block.
I maybe wrong but thats what I always thought IQF stood for.
It wont change the world but just my 2 cents worth
    Not all tools are usefull.
Nappies and politicians should be changed regularly for the same reason..

Correct, the I stands for individual, as in each one is frozen and not in big clumps. You can buy eating quality Pilchards at most seafood shops, they defrost like just caught, also if you can find proper WA Pilchards, they are way better quality bait than the other brands.

The big thing about that and buying fresh squid, prawns etc they touch fresh water ice a big no no, soon as we catch squid we use to bag them than straight into the freezer at home but the other day we had nothing to bag out 4 squid in in a open boat so they have touched rain water but they'll still be used this weekend hopefully

IQF stands for individual quick freezing. It is a common freezing method in the foodservice industry and consists of freezing individual pieces of food separately from the other pieces at extremely low temperatures. IQF is also referred to as flash freezing, quick freeze, or super freeze.
