The humble doggie is probably the most family friendly fish for a kids day out..and heaps of fun..

We only get the schools on the bait grounds during the winter up here..how much of the year are they around for down central QLD, mate..?

They come in about August and stay to about November in my experience. The dead give away is the shoulder to shoulder people wedged onto the rocky ledges and the dozens of tinnys on top of each other in the usual haunts!
