I like Jack Murphy’s “The Captain”. More about boats than fishing though.
Nice to dream with some of the boats they review and the rebuilds are pretty cool.

some have become absolute tossers though once they got their YouTube fame .

That said - Hat's off to the quality of filming & editing ..... some of it's pretty cool

but hey - it's great to see so much content available.

I certainly prefer the down to earth folk that are genuinely trying to share their love and appreciation of the adventure rather the their love of themselves..

That's what happens when you get paid for making content ..... it's about the $$$$ & sponsorship. ..... the trouble is that every man & their dog is into it now .

All fishing shows end up the same, they start off OK, but then just go downhill to either being one big add, or a vehicle to inflate someone's head, then you get the "professional" shows (like Deadliest catch, Wicked Tuna) that are just scripted drama/emergencies to attempt to make a mundane pile of crap look exciting. I can't remember that last fishing show I actually watched with interest.

He's one of the most popular fishing related youtubers in the the world and makes mega bucks doing it. I think that's because in spite of all the fortune it has brought him, he seems to be as grateful as anyone could be to be able to life his best life. I get the feeling he can't quite believe how he's managed to pull it off. He won't be everyones cup of tea but there's plenty of people that were in lock downs and doing it tough over the past couple of years who got to live their best lives through his lense. Even though imaginary.

Young , living in a great part of the world where your only care is going for a dive , fish , boating - then cut some footage ....... all while others are throwing free stuff at you . i'd be pinching myself too.
