Need 40-50l for a handful of slimies and heaps of yakkas plus lots of water turn over
chasing kings dolphin fish at the fads can easily go through 30-40 slimies
That threw a curve ball.. tried doing this really cheap looked at bunnings prices $17 for a small piece of 32mm hose thought bugger that so grabbed a piece of pvc pipe and just taped it on, one shop wated $20 for a 400mm piece of hose fmd i didnt even ask for 2 meters of 19mm hose from that guy, got some 19mm clear vinyl hose for the feed but the pump is 19mm the spray head is 16mm a bit of a screw around and donno my approch yet may just silicone inside the hose and use a clamp
Drilled my drain hole thru the splash well to my surprise my splash well is 10mm thick its as thick or thicker than the bottom of my hull
Just pack out the connection area on the spray head with tape or better still glue lined heat shrink until it's the right size and fit a hose clamp like normal.
Nah the overflow is level the hull naturally sits high at the bow and low at the transom hard to see in my boat pic but when ur on the boat the bow sits probably 5 inches higher than the rear
But even with the hull sitting like that the tube is level
I didnt even think of that Scott thats a good idea
In the pic the overflow is the white straight pipe, the clear hose is the spray head intake
Why not make a bit of a stand/box to sit the tank on, that will get it up a bit higher, make draining easier and you don't have to be almost on your knees getting bait, have you got a scoop for water when moving? My old plastic tank I just had a right angled fitting for water entry, pointed down into the tank, this made the water in the bottom turn over too, simple garden hose "click" fittings work a treat, unclip the inlet, connect a short hose to wash blood and stuff off the boat, you can use one on those ones with the stopper in it to stop water flow when the tank is not connected, they are simple, cheap and all plastic so no rust, and everything is available off the shelf in hardware stores or supermarkets.
Need a inline tap on the inlet side to slow the water flow down
Outlets need to be two times the inlet size, but with a screw on lid the tank will probably just be pressurised
easier to get water in then out
Nah no water feed while driving not yet Noel a bit hesitant to drill holes in the transom i know its thermolite but an ugly look, i'll see how i go with some bait in the tank if any die moving from spot to spot i'll add the second line, tank is 450mm high seems ok to reach in there, no net yet trying to find an all plastic net so it wont rust
Steve the spray head is adjustable for water flow which shouldnt be a problem
Run it through the splash well with a length of PVC Down the transom next to the motor, with an elbow at the end poking just below the hull line, worked well on mine for years, never liked skin fittings running into the hull where I can’t see them.
Yeah im going to do that just need to work out the correct diameter pvc pipe as i dont want a huge amount of water flowing while im concentrating on driving
Just charged a battery for the bait tank, i put a multimeter on my regular start battery she was reading 11.7v i accidently left the key on last trip for 24 hours the battery is now taking a full 6.1amps while charging she was at 38% think i killed that battery lession learnt lucky it was just a $30 battery
