The kids had a ball yesterday chasing chopper tailor landbased in the Southport Broadwater at Runaway Bay along with the usual haul of sand whiting. Bait for the tailor was pillies on 3 x 3/0 Gangs.
Mostly we start to chase whiting this time of the year as they more actively feed at the start of the spawning season, but the tailor were a good addition. The whiting were plentiful but only school fish between 27 and 32 cm with no big fish.
