more dry fitout taking place in the factory. testing all the interior fit and accesory placement before being dissaembled and taken over to the body/ prep building.
So the interior test fitout has been progressing with more cabinets and the galley making their appearance.
So the mammoth 9mt has entered the paint sheds for body work, she will still be in there for a few more weeks. but here she is getting faired
Herley 9 at the tail end of body fairing before going in for undercoat and top coat paint
Very much the Carolina flair type of lines, not so commonly seen over here. Interested to see the finished product.
very observant mr ran.
We wanted a very 3 dimential hull with the appearance of a solid gentlemans launch hull. bullish and square... but flowing into a flare "for practical and style reasons" with a 3d negitive space along the side to give it a contemparary side profile akin to larger motoryachts. not something seen on standard out of the box metal boats.
long story short.. we wanted an exceptionally seaworthy strong hull.... that looked classy . classic and modern... a tall order, but im happy with what wegot. im very much looking forward to some colour

There has been no mention of power, or fuel capacity, or expected performance? oO is the motor supply situation meaning you have to take what is available close to finish?
we ordered our engines over a year ago thankfully. and they arrived about 4 months ago thankfully. so they are just sitting there in big boxes waiting for the day they get popped on.
yes engines though are a bit tricky. we are working with a diesel outboard company now who can supply engines pretty easily funny enough. but all the other big brands are 6+ months maybe 1 year in some cases.
the client requested some pretty impressive figures, he wanted a 51nt plus boat. so we are running 600hp out of 2x 300hp . we also have 2x sharrow engineering props due to arrive in august. client has requested "im a bit reluctant" to Nizpro the engines to 332hp ea. though fluid dynamic testing and water tank testing got us some f igures of 54notts with 600hp.
i am propping the engine down to 51knotts to allow for better slow speed control with the yamaha helm master joystick control.
we have 2 main tanks of 650lt of fuel , plus a 120lt water tank and 50lt black water tank onboard.
51 knots is a very exact figure. Does he have a mate with a 50 knot boat, perchance?
Also... that is truly flying for a hull of that size and style. Will be an impressive sight at full steam.
few more progress photos after interior acid wash and more hull paint prep
interior cockpit undercoating underway on a new elite 9. With a rather interesting floor coming in a few weeks 😉
