soft floor..uh ho
found a soft floor in the cabin area of the Haines 565..1983... the main floor was replaced 15 years ago and is fine as were the bulkheads stringers etc ...Im looking at this thinking...what are the chances that just the small floor has gone and is it viable just to cut it out leaving an edge to work too. and replace...something I can do.or am I fooling myself...and this requires major surgery to fix.....I know the only way is to start cutting ....but anyone got away with the minor repair ..or does in inevitably lead to the major ...

It can't hurt to cut some out to "inspect" without doing that it's all just guess work.

Perhaps just cut an inspection-size panel out first? Make it a size that will fit an aftermarket inspection hatch, so, if you find it is just a small soft patch of the original floor, and the stringers etc beneath all look good, just put the hatch in and leave it. If you go in full noise and cut the whole thing out to start with, you'll be replacing anyway.
