    Fishing Gladstone first time

Hi all, looking at taking my boys to Gladstone for a fish (salt, but perhaps impoundment time permitting). Any tips for lure fishing the area. I have a side console 4.5 Bluefin. Thinking close offshore and estuary fishing for Barra, GT, Trevs, Threadfin etc.

    Any tips appreciated. Cheers

Barra in the dam is a thankless task in patience. Catfish though by the dozen, especially on bait.

If you want to lure barra and king, come another hour up the highway to Rocky and fish the Fitzroy. I believe that Gladstone is still netted, while the Fitzroy isn't.

At times for sure but there are few styles of fishing that are quite as addictive as surface frogging in the weed beds. Not for the faint of heart or anyone with a liking for letting fish run. Great fun
