Thanks for the kind words Sheik. More than welcome.

Ended up being a couple of things - a high resistance switch was the "no winch up" fault courtesy of a small tear in the rubber boot having let water in and a loose connection at the solenoid was the cause of intermittent motor operation overall I suspect.
