Gear oil was freshly changed and then boat ran in water for about 2.5 hours. It was obviously clearer when new. Not sure if this is milky enough to indicate water or just normal after a bit of engine running? Is there a simple way to test for water?
It was a slightly clearer green. Marine mechanic did the oil change. Do I need to take a different picture or video? Is there an easy test for water content?
If it was green when put in, it has water in it now, a gear box pressure test is quick and easy, your mechanic should be able to do it in a few minutes.
