Crab pots in the surf?

I was up at Fraser last week, and to my surprise saw four pots in a close in gutter at Eurong. On our way back past one had washed up out of the gutter. I didn’t walk up to it, but stopped close and could clearly see a bait bag hanging in it but no catch. Have I been missing something all these years of beach fishing?

The places I see pots sometimes makes you wonder. They drift away or get run over, then cry that someone stole their pots.

A mate puts his im about 6m just behind the surf line top end of Bribie Island. From memory they got about 80 sandies. All the neighbours got to share.
