They come out in satin chrome.

Couldn't agree more tunaticer, is a great reel and yes I have never seen them chrome either.

When I got my reel I had it matched up with a Jack Erskine custom made rod which I also still have but did get the rod refurbished a few years back so it looks nothing like it did. I actually got two of his rods as they were beautifully made, I think it was around 1978.

Love old fishing gear, I reckon I have owned lots of reels that would be great to have now, some I sold, some I gave away, some just "gone" I do have a mint condition ABU 2500C though

I have a ABU 12 which I purchased many many years ago and I still use it and love it. The handle needs replacing but not sure if you can still get parts for them.

Any ideas where you can get parts ?

Only thing I can think of is a Pawn shop in Rockhampton that had a used 12 for about $100.00 The shop is called Kings.
The reel is a bit rough on the outside but it did function well about 6 months ago when I looked at it.
