whats your choice for a fly for estuary flathead?
Been fly fishing.... too long...57 years and seen the decline in Aus..of trout habitat...but thats not the question.....been catching flatties Mallacoota way recent years in very shallow water...and am thinking ..they are fly fishable...so as a fly tyer as well...whats a good castable flattie fly look like....and dont say anything...cos even in lures some designs work better than others.....

You can tie some closures in pink and white and chartreuse and white too easy.

I would think anything longish, with plenty of movement, and unless water too deep, a bit of weight to get it to the bottom, to get the flathead coming to look for your fly.
