    Recommend me a rod

Looking for 7 to 7.6 rod for penn slammer 7500 with 30lb mono for bait fishing out of boat on shallow reefs. Lightish tip would help too for casting.

    Cheers

Have a look at this one:

You haven't mentioned a budget as there are cheaper and dearer rods to match that reel, I have one of these and don't have any issues with it, but having said that I converted it a little while ago to suit an overhead reel after I sold my Penn spinning reel which was on it. Take your reel into a fishing tackle store and put it on a couple of different rods to see how it feels.

Thnaks Edberg - I will keep this in mind. Other guys I know use these rods and they seem pretty tough and good value

Thanks Dirtyfuzz - I have looked at these rods before but I thought they might be a bit small for the big Penn Slammer 7500? I might take it into the local store and strap it on and see what if feels like.

Thanks Lethal. I have actually snapped one of the new Live Fibre rods. They are now made in China - not sure if they are the same blanks? I was surprised how easily it snapped.

I used to own a Nitro Viper and loved it. I forgot all about the Godzilla. Good call. Unfortunately these rods are a bit rarer today and to my knowledge only one mob sells them nowadays and as luck would have it there are none of their outlets near me. Still, I would probably be prepared to take a punt and buy one over the net.

    Cheers
