Caught this jewie fishing for mackerel on a shallow reef. Took a slowly retrieved whole pillie on a 3x6/0 gang at 9 am. Went 97 cm. Even more surprising was that I lost a bigger one around 115 cm 30 minutes earlier - got it to the boat but the gaff shot just clipped it and the hooks fell out. Got one school mackerel also - they were there early but buggered off.
