What Transducer
Looking for transducer suggestions for a Furuno gp1971, below is how sounder will be used.
90% reef fishing less than 120m deep
5% fishing 120m to 250m
5% trolling in waters no deeper than 100m
I'm thinking the tm185hw. Anybody here running this set up or similar?
Ideas & Thoughts?

Re: What Transducer
Are you looking at primarily transom mount only, or see you open to the idea of through-hull mounting?

Re: What Transducer
The wide angle transducers are great for trolling but IMO aren't much chop for for bottom fishing in any real depth - especially if you are wanting decent definition. They simple cover too much bottom at once to show good definition. The other issue is trying to get right on top of small lumps. With a 25 degree cone you could quite easily have the lump on display but miss it by quite a distance.
Just had a quick look - this is why Furuno would only rate the HW version to a Max depth of 152 metres.

Scooter
so the tm185m be a better option??
Or is there a chirp tranny out there for these units I haven’t found yet?
Maybe a non chirp tranny?

Re: What Transducer
You could look at the TM265 LH or LM as it is full chirp and narrow beam

This seems to be going ok. https://www.facebook.com/search/top/?q=Furuno%20GP1971F
The unit is only single channel - not sure how that transpires into making full use of dual band chirp trannies.
