Snapper bag out and two whales!

Wow what a day! I’m sure that a lot of you got out amongst it today as I got to the boat ramp at 5am and it was full... wtf? Haha

My wife and boxer pup came out today and we headed out to the 60m area. By the time we got there at about 6am there were a fair few boats already out there. What time do you lot get out there? Great run out with that gentle westerly behind us. Mind you I’m not a huge fan of running out at 18kn in the pitch black!

When we we got out there we dropped anchor at a random area that looked like it had some promising bottom structure and started to burley. We bagged out by 10am so started to slowly head towards my pearly spot. On the way I dragged a soft plastic behind the boat and just before we got there it got hammered. It spat the hook and I wasn’t able to got a look but it felt pretty big. We played around for a little while just drifting for a few drops as we had to head home. We threw back a small pearly and a small Moses Perch and then had to leave.

To top off a great morning on the way back we saw two whales and the water nearly glassed out. Great day to be out on the water. Hope everyone else got some great fish.

That is a seriously cute pup mate. I tend to prefer dogs to humans as a whole, & he looks like he is going to be a great mate for you & your wife. Whats his name??
Thats a great shot of him with a pilly in his chops

Haha yes he loves the bait... we have to wash all the salt off first and only give him a little bit.
His name is “Kaos” and we are going to look at a 9 week old deaf rescue boxer today who’s name is going to be “Havoc”

Looks like a great day out. We went out around Moreton on Tuesday and saw a constant procession of whales heading north. I couldn't go out this weekend as children's sport and activities took over. Well done with the great snapper!

My big fella Munch in my avatar was very possessive of the spanish mac tail, trying to keep it from Bosco.
He's 72kg now & a bit big to take out in the boat....
