T Top support stand offs
The boat in question here is a glass centre console with a Stryker brand T Top.
There are stand offs mounted to each side of that give some sideways support to the T Top frame. The locknuts came loose and I've re-tightened them a few times but the thread is a fraction short, so difficult to get it all lined up. The local big green shed only sells 6mm as the smallest. They were just SS 4 mm all thread with a aluminium tube that fills the gap between the frame and the T Top tube.
So I was tightening it all up and thought I'd ask would it be obvious to tighten it all up firmly or leave some looseness to allow for flex in choppy conditions ?

Tighten it up and let the frame deal with the flex.
Leaving the mounts loose will cause serious damage to the mounts at the least.

Thanks Tuna, yep that's how I've done them up. Thought I'd better ask
