    Size does not indicate quality
Brand and reputation based on experience does

I have bought 4 of the Giant branded AGM batteries over the last decade, mainly the 125A -150A sizes and haven't had any issues with them, still have one in the current boat.

Yer Edberg I went and read all the feed back about them most guy have had no issues with them, the ones that have are more about there other appliances they have been sold, i liked there pro-rata warranty.

The same size in a full river brand is nearly $700 and 2 years warranty the giant Batteries are half the price with the pro rata so ill take that chance.

    Re: new deep cycle battery

I've come to realise that regardless of the brand & how much you spend - it mostly boils down to how they are used & maintained .

Draw any deep cycle down below 50% & you are shortening their life ( this is really common for people running minn kotas etc)
Then it is the re -charge & another fail for many …… ideally most (LiFePO4 the exception) the charge rate should only be 10% of the battery capacity - now many of us are guilty of using 16 or 25 amp chargers on a 100 amp battery

Then it is the type of charger - most people get that you need a decent multistage charges

Finally it's storage …… we let them sit around for months (often still connected) without using or charging them .

None of this is good for any DC battery be it a no name , Full river , Remco . Optima through to an Odyssey …… you are killing it .

I know I've killed quality batteries in just a few years & yet I have a 200amp no name AGM that has exceeded 10 years usage because it has been used & maintained correctly.

One other point is that going bigger capacity is not a bad way of getting a long life ……ie : if you never draw it down below 50% you are well on your way .

& he will sit in a boat - & drink beer all day!
