What steering system? Hydraulic or cables?

Does the steering get tight, hard, or tend to pull left once you get up to those speeds too?

What’s the boat plated to as it says 70hp max

You’ve gone 10hp and 40 odd kilos over transom weight allowances

will check when i take it for a run chimo, lifted it to the middle hole of the 5 hole set .
regrettably Hydraulic now from cable ,don't really like the extra 3/4 turn but no feedback .
different boat to the one they make now stevej, mclay didn't have a 4.8 sheet so they cut the 535 sheet back for this boat compliance plate has 60-100 hpAttachment 119302

Wow sounds like hydraulic steering is the ducks nuts, i have never tried it

The NFB hydraulic could be masking a steering alignment problem and transferring all the powerhead torque reaction straight into the hull causing it to lean without you knowing about it.

Have you played with the trim fin setting behind the prop and the power trim position at all?

nah Fed ,first thing i tried .
hydraulic steering looks pretty neat, but i think just complicating things on a small boat .

That's what I was thinking when I asked about steering system.

Cable to hydraulic will definitely mask a trim fin anode alignment issue. You just can't feel it the same as cable.

Tried what? The power trim, or the alignment anode fin?

The alignment anode shouldn't be perfectly straight. With your hydraulic steering now it will be more difficult to feel the influence of an out of alignment anode fin.

Stupid thought. Is there a full anode fin there? It's a second-hand motor? Few years old? Is there a full anode fin behind the prop?
