Congradulations on the order, hopefully they did a boat show deal price for you with the boatshow only a few months away.

Revival does have its drawbacks for its size/price but so long as you look after it, it should prove to be a very decent little boat. well done

You'll need to calculate your wet engine weight, fuel capacity, and fishing gear weight into that 400kg to keep it under 2500kg

six.4 meter boat you'll love that kind of boat outside should ride beautiful

Truly on my way to own the revival 640! Yay!!!
    few questions:
1 Do I need a salt water deck wash @ $700 and a plumbed live bait tank @$500 (live bait tank exists but is not plumbed)
2 what boat cover? It’s not going to be in a garage
3 Is there some sort of silicon coat that one could get on a glass boat which protects the surface for 3-5 yrs?

$700 sounds excessive for a deck wash but I would definitely have one put in whether at the dealers or aftermarket!

    deck wash comes in handy
live bait tank isnt a live bait tank if its not plumbed
custom made cover will be best expect to pay 2500 -3000 for a big boat
yep its called waxing it and keeping the sun off it

Thanks. Just a clarification ( attributable to lack of experience). The deck wash would be pumping salt water. Why would I use saltwater to wash deck? Wouldn’t I just go for a fresh water wash once I am back out of water?

Saltwater whilst out there to wash fish blood away on the good days and vomit away on the bad. Freshwater clean at home.

I use mine to get all the bait and fish guts off the baitboard/deck then wash all the crap out through the scuppers, a lot easier to clean it off when it’s all fresh! Also squid ink stains so want to get that off straight away

If the boat is going to be covered, spend the money and get a custom one made, it will be twice the price of an off the shelf "fits everything, fits nothing properly" cover, but it will be 50 times better and last much longer, deck wash is nice, but not an absolute must have, like the bait tank, if you are even considering keeping live bait, get it setup now.

get the deck wash to pre- clean the area as your packing up the rods to come home. with live bait tanks i find most dont use it after a couple of times, its really a hard out fishermans toy... and instead of boat cover, look long term and think about a carport, some nice ones getting around now , theyre are a canterlever design with a curve roof, very stylish if your house is mad, otherwise a cheapy from bunnings, you dont want to be wrapping the big girl up as some things can happen...like moisture build up , mould, gunk, dirt, something else but forgot and besides you will get sick of it im telling ya. ive built two carports just for my boats, with vines growing up the sides to keep the sun of the hull increasing hull oxidation. failure to keep the sun of will mean more frequent polishing the boat , and your boat sir is two days worth .

Get the deck wash and plumb it so you can use fresh water or salt.

I fitted a 50 litre bladder up front in my Vagabond and ran a hose line to the deck wash in the stern that I fitted with a tee and cut offs so I could run eith salt or fresh.

Cannot remember when I last used salt. Also handy with the addition of a little extra hose, for washing off your brakes when you pull the boat out so by the time you get home the brakes have been washed and they are dry from the drive and use so you do get a little less corrosion on your rotors etc

Carport beats covers every time unless you store it on the water.

At standard dealership labour rates, those prices probably aren't too far off the mark. Are you handy with a power drill, holesaws and a silicone gun - if you are you can do the job at a much lower cost. The best boat cover - a shed - pure and simple. Full shade, out of the weather and totally secure so you can have the boat packed the night before and just drive out in the morning - just a bit hard if you rent. Next best a carport with side shades, custom cover, generic cover and tarp (in that order).
