Braid or Dacron

Rigging up new reels/rods to go deep sea. What is your preference?

Braid doesn't rot like dacron can......
Braid is better for bottom fishing than dacron.

Braid much thinner than dacron for any given breaking strain, so--more line on any given reel, and if you are bottom fishing, far less drag, so lighter sinkers needed for any given drift. Braid lasts a very long time, and is really not that expensive, unless you start going for the hollow core stuff, which is specialist game fishing gear anyway, for joining a mono topshot to with a splice.
