hi guys heading up to fitzroy island off carins on sunday for 5 nights and was thinking about doing some form of sports fishing charter eg wahoo macs gt cobia that sort of thing. also whats the fishing like land base around their is it worth cadting some lure or trolling behind a kayak or am i wasting my time

I’ve caught plenty of Spanish off Little Fitzroy along with the very occasional trout etc. GTs are also known in to inhabit the area! I’m not a squid chaser, but I have caught plenty of fresh bait in the area. Never tried land based at Fitzroy, but I would at least take a stick to toss a lure or two if I was staying there. Looks like the wind will be up Friday/Saturday and dropping Sunday/Monday. ENJOY YOUR STAY!
