You can wash yours down after each day out than spray it with lanolin or wd-40 and it wont rust, are u worried it will explode? bbq regulators sit outside in all weather conditions
I have a mate in the gas supply business, he owns a business that supplies parts and repairs gauges and stuff, I can ask him if you like.
I have seen those medical ones, but they dont seem suited to LPG bottles.
They normally just seize up so you cant screw/unscrew them from the bottle, however the last one failed to regulate the pressure, end result was full bottle pressure to the bbq, and the gas taps in the BBQ did not like that!
I do hit them with lanox, but the environment still takes its toll.
That would be great. I cant believe there is nothing out there. You can buy $600 stainless gas bottles, but cant get a stainless regulator. One has to wonder why.
OK, I will call him for you, it is hard to believe that there's nothing made for marine use.
Just called him, he said he has never seen one, but, the better quality aluminium ones tend to last longer, he is away until next week and he will do a proper search when he gets back to work, he has supplied some to big yachts and pro fishermen that are much better than the cheap $15 jobs.

Full pressure to the stove that would have raised some hairs on your head or surely burnt them shit that is even scary just thinking about it
did the regulator freeze up? strange that it even allowed it to go full pressure, i learnt a thing about gas cylinders and that is always only undo them 1/2 a turn that way if there is a fire its only half a turn to shut it off i learnt this for the oxy/acetylene i had
I had not lit the BBQ (Galleymate). Every time I turned the gas on at the bottle, it sounded like gas was pissing out of the BBQ. I initially thought it was the BBQ itself, but I bought a new regulator and tested it and the bbq was fine. Put the old regulator on again and the same thing. Normally when those regulators fail, the just shut off and you get no gas.
I used the bbq yesterday for the first time with no issue's, but thinking about getting it checked. I might email the mob that make the galleymate stoves and see what they think.
Good tip on turning the bottle on a 1/2 turn, I'll remember that one.
One would think the stove would be capible of holding the full pressure with the dials or however the stove regulates the pressure unless the gas bottles valve adjusts the stoves gas flow/heat?
I am guessing that the bbq is designed for the lower pressure provided by the regulator. I am sure if the bbq could handle the full pressure from an LPG cylinder then there would be no need for a gas regulator?
Yes correct, the regulator as the name suggests, limits/stabilises the gas flow, without a regulator, you would have a blast furnace BBQ that would burn everything to bits, I have a crab cooker with an adjustable regulator on it, and if used as a "normal" setup, it would be barely OK, but used as intended, it boils water real quick, roars like a jet, and burns everything within close range, but, it boils enough water for over 30 crabs in no time.
I always thought the regulator was to stop back flow of a flame going back into the tank and causing a explosion
