Why can't Hinze dam catchment be a natural source of mercury?
I mean mercury occurs naturally at a quite a lot of places where it is mined.
I remember reading a report in the 80's on heavy metal contamination in fish in SEQ, the big surprise was fish tested at Tangalooma wrecks were higher levels of mercury cadmium and lithium than the fish tested in the Brisbane River.
For what it is worth the biggest mercury pollutant is roads as shown in this report.
