Brisbane River Jew
I fished the river last Tuesday night and Thursday night with a target of Jewfish but also hoping for a snapper.
The snapper didn't show up, but the Jewfish were biting their heads off.
Tuesday saw 2 fish around the low 90's boated with hooks pulled on another 3 (not sure how the circle hooked pulled on one, took a massive run and was certain I had been broken off on a pylon, but the circle came back intact).
Had about 8-9 hits/runs which didn't eventuate into anything.
Thursday saw 3 Jew boated all around the low 90's, with about 3-4 hits/runs which didn't turn into anything.
Managed to either have the knot fail or line bitten on the knot and lost what I think would have been 40cm+ bream, have gotten them before at this spot and the fight was very similar. Was disappointed with missing that one.
I also had a school of small tailor come through at one stage and destroyed all the baits I had down there at the time...
Interestingly, both nights I got a fish which still had someone else’s line in its gob, both looked like they hadn’t been there long.
Plenty of bait Tuesday night, only needed 1 cast to sort the mullet out.
