Need Gold Coast camping suggestions

hi Guys, Im looking for spots where I can rock up in a boat and pitch a small tent for 2 nights and have a campfire. Happy to rough it, dont need facilities. I just wanna be able to see my boat from the camp spot, and to be away from other campers. I was thinking that Crusoe Is at Jumpinpin might be ok, though Ive never camped there. Tipplers campsites probably has too many nosy ppl who might nick my stuff while Im out fishing?

Does anybody have a fav spot to park a 4.1m boat, pitch a tent and fish on the Coomera, Nerang , Tweed or Jumpinin?

Have you thought about kipping on the boat a little off shore?

Teerk Rook Ra (Peel Island) National Park, Brisbane


“Where on earth is it?” is the question that often follows any mention of this hidden national park off the coast of Brisbane. This gem of a campsite on Peel Island in Moreton Bay feels a million miles from the city.
You need to be creative to get there, but if you can commandeer a kayak or boat and make for Horseshoe Bay on the southern side of the island you’re almost certain to have the entire place to yourself.
Wind-sculpted sandstone rocks, remnants of the old quarantine station and a sheltered campsite greet you. Peel Island is all about being in harmony with the world around you. Take in all the nature as turtles, dolphins and dugongs welcome you to their home.
How to get there: With no public transport you’ll need to find your own way across Moreton Bay from Brisbane or Dunwich on North Stradbroke Island. It’s so close you could almost swim there! You’ll need to book your campsite here.

Yes, its proving trickier than I thought with Crusoe Is and Sth Straddy campsites being the only options that I can see on beacon to beacon. I dont think you can see your boat from Sth Straddy official campsites tho, and I dont want to unload the rods. Im well used to sleeping on the boat, but Id like to find a spot for a campfire if possible. Thanks for the Peel Is tip, but I wanna leave from Jacobs Well, and I have 20lt of fuel for 2 days, so its a bit far.

I suspect you might need to do a cruise to check out possible options prior to the actual "event"

Have you got an actual paper becon to beacon? You might get a few ideas from the mooring photos that you can then check out on Google Earth prior to your "cruise" before the "event"

Be careful of termite infested firewood being carried in the boat, Ref the thread on here about the rebuild of the termite infested boat.

Drive up to Baffle Creek and stay with Wayno. Free secure camping

Lions Camp Ground on southern end (east) Russel Island may be an option?

You did say Gold Coast, so ill duck in n say The Broadwater Caravan Park adjascent to the Coast Gaurd next to the Boat ramp.
Wont be able to light fire but have your boat next to you if that area suits your needs and have access to miles of fishing arena

Lots of spots along millionaires row to camp and have a fire although it does get busy on weekends and the lagoon at the very NW corner of South Straddie is a good sheltered spot. There is a little spit that sticks out on the Northern side of the lagoon where you can camp and have a fire.

Thanks guys. I think a quick look around trip next weekend is in order. I might look at millionaires row or Crusoe Is. Russell Island camp group was interesting, but it doesn't allow camp fires.
