    small ships 5/8/18

took dad for another crack at the whiting this morning.used prawns for bait again cut into bout 1cm pieces.found the whiting a bit deeper today 5-7mtrs in good number but size wasn't real good and threw a lot more than we kept back ..went up to around the 4-5mtr mark found a better size fish school bout 1hr befor the tide turned and had a good feed in no time.finnished with 80 and a 33cm tuskie which was a real supprise on the weed banks...another good day on the water...pics of the sounders fitted and the wiring that scottar done on the Yalta..deffinatly does good work.

Cheers for the kind words Rosco. Thought you would have been offshore today. How did the 585 go at speed?

did the usual 25knts mate and was good held bottom well at that speed..did open it up a bit to 30knts and picture was still the same on the 585 that's bout as fast as I really need to go so its all good mate..its hard to drive past the whiting mate..did 47km today for 22.5ltrs fuel..hard to beat that feed of tasty whiting for around 30bucks of fuel and well the prawns where what I had caught earlier In the yr

Looks like your dash is filling up quick.
    Why keep the Lowrance?
I'm guessing Furuno does sonar and Garmin does GPS.

furuno and simrad nss7 both are sonar but will use simrad as gps mainly and have the sonar as back up..lowrance is just a gps so its a back up gps if the simrad failes and it also feeds the Yamaha speed gauge.sort of more valuable to me to leave in the boat as a back up if the simrad dies or plays up
