Anyone done the run from Wide Bay Bar up to Urangan Marinarecently? Have not done for years andbringing through a boat with a 1 meter draft towards the top of the tide. I havebeen told it has got very shallow in a few spots. Anywhere I need to be extracareful, beyond just following the beacons and GPS?
Just time your run across the Sheridan flats at high tide, follow the beacons, make good use of your mk1 eyeballs and you'll be laughing. Im in a 35 riv and have done it heaps of times.
PS note the Sheridan flats are the '1/2 way' point for the straits. An outgoing tide flows north from north of the flats and south from south of the flats.
