Whales are plentiful this time of year, just have to make sure you have a decent combo with plenty of drag
Always a chance of a mac tuna or longtail. Between the Cape and Smiths and between Flinders and Hutchies are good areas.
Worth a troll if birds are showing good signs or you find bait balls while traversing the area. Our best Spanish macks(20+ kg)have been bait balls on the sounder that we have turned around on and trolled over. It's easier if you keep dedicated trolling gear ready to go.Originally Posted by wazzab
