New boat on the block!
Yep, the NZ SURTEES!
I've had seven boats in my long life of boating, all over 7 metres but now downsizing I went through the Stacers, Stessels, Quintrex's and they are soooo far below the Surtees it is almost funny!
But it is not a cheap boat all the same! The brilliant 4.95 Workmate is around $35,000 on trailer. No real options as it has everything you need.
The designer was an obvious Fisho as every aspect of the vessel is aimed at providing all the nick knacks needed. Underfloor kill tank that can be refreshed by opening a bung, solid grab rails y everywhere, about 12 Rod holders I think, great rotatable 360 degree seats, fwd/aft adjustable, great little 7" Garmin plotter sounder, huge front hatch to access the anchor, super wide non slip gunnels about 12" wide all around to sit on, transom plate to get around on or fish from, huge bait board at the back, 2 x 28ltr portable fuel tanks and a staggering consumption from the 70 hp Yammy 4-stroke of around 5 litres per hour, roomy little bugger that would fish four .......
Enough said, get out to NORTHSIDE MARINE and get Rod to take you for a spin, the covered Workmate is the better of the two!
Once youve done that the extra few bucks won't be a big deal anyway!
The renowned NZ aluminium welding is absolutely brilliant and with 4 mm floor and 3 mm sides it's one tuff, rugged boat!
If money is no object, look at the big boys they make! Wow wow wow is all I can say!
Dont leave home without one! 😜

Re: New boat on the block!
Just had a look at their website. Appears to be a great fishing boat if your after a plate boat. Yes a lot of thought has gone into them.

Re: New boat on the block!
The 75 hp model certainly looks nice but is also another whopping 50 kgs heavier, I'd have a look at some of the options compared to the 70 hp as a prop may not be included, the 3 year warranty on the 70 might not be available on the 75 either and although hard to ascertain the litres per hour is reputed as an additional 25-30% above the 70!
But once it is launched here some of the above above will change no doubt!
I'd be interested to read about how you find it when it arrives!
Anything Yammy is a pretty good bet I reckon .........!

Re: New boat on the block!
Probably right, in US dollars it was a grand difference but as Australian businesses like to double or triple their profits it is most likely over two thousand.
To digress I've got a Mercedes and a battery relay here costs $2550. I got the identical unit from France for $319 incl air freight! Unbelievable isn't it?

Bit harsh PinkPanther don't you think? Everyone's gotta eat. I don't think the marine industry has been tidied up into an evil cartel just yet - which is why we have to support the little guys.
The Mercedes thing; well you're going to get that because they are a cartel.
My humble opinion only.
