    Mate everything fits.
    Jenny takes v little room.
I chuck the coffee thing up front somewhere.
Need to be pretty calm or it gets a bit messy, but you can just boil up or do black easy.
I like the vic for 1 up, easy to handle.
This is also one way to get a rod to go off!

What was included for that price? mine was $50,000 on the dot for BMT, safety gear and sounders. I didnt get hydraulic steering as I didnt need it, and I already owned epirbs and stuff like that. I bought the stainless bimini later on also. but still that only brought it up to $52,000.

WFE - yeah closer to 60k than 50k at the moment.

Go-Fishing i like the idea of the burner up near the cab ( seen a neat compartment in the Boat outfitters.com web site under storage and stoves) tenzing idea might trump it though.

Never thought I'd see a Zuke and a Honda on a transom together, and both operating at the same time... [emoji3].

Do a run around Horseshoe Bay with that coffee maker and you'd also make a killing tenzing, my wife might even pay $50 for a Latte... in fact if she ever sees that photo she'd be asking me to take our little Honda genny so she could take her coffee machine... so please delete it now [emoji3][emoji3].

Ok, getting back to the original requirements, these are the questions on my mind, and might help you narrow down the options BigE.

The Traveller link posted ‘looks’ to be very good value, well set up, and will tick a lot of your boxes, but I would expect not the economy. If you are in to game fishing it is good-to-go, and with AP too. From memory these were H/Sig’s answer to the HH ‘Breeze’ line up, as a cheaper alternative from the HS stable (without their VD hulls). Lightish, but the steeper deadrise should provide a decent ride (at the expense of power/economy).

Although the two CC’s look to be priced within the normal range for this brand, from what I can see at least one looks a bit tired and un loved. The pics of both were taken without the guys even bothering to clean out the dirt & leaves, or rain-washed dust on the dash. If they couldn’t be bothered to at least present them well for photos, to me that says they may not have been well cared for. Just my opinion of course.

    2. must ride comfortable ( i don't want to feel broken after a fishing trip).
    * See #1, but also at what speed are you happy to travel at/or what defines ‘comfortable’? For instance, I like to remain seated at the helm. When its real shitty, I like to just crank down the tabs and slow right down, to even 10-12kn if real bad, but generally can do an ugly 1770 long haul into a stiff NE’er at a 13 -15kn speed – still very comfortably on the plane, but seated at all times with the AP on (which makes it bumpier). Others want to go faster, stand up, and bash their way out… but I like to sit down and have what ‘I define’ a comfortable ride. Everyone’s different. Would be a lot faster if I had a 10m cat though .

    3. must have a toilet/porta potty.
    * For the missus I assume? Boats with more cabin length/height would provide a more suitable environment for this, and many of these would have space for the toilet – if not one already there. Quite a few brands have models more directed to cabin size/height, amenities etc at the trade-off of cockpit size, i.e. Explorer’s vs Outsiders from the CC brand.

    4. must have a full canopy that doesn't impact fishing to much ( getting to old to be touched up by the sun).
    * Can easily be added, the benefit then being you can design it to suit your needs.

    5. must be able to be handled one up ( not often but when I get the chance i want to go ...no excuses).
    * Under what conditions? Where do you launch from? Beach, rocks, or pontoon adjacent to ramp? Depends a lot on these, and; the boat, the trailer, and the skipper’s experience plus the conditions.

    6. must have economy of 2km per liter or better at cruise ( for the days when I'm paying for everything).
    * This will be very restricting. How many k’s will you do per year, and what extra costs will be incurred with a say up to a 0.3 to even 0.5km/L economy penalty? Compare to other ‘musts’, and hence are you prepared to use more fuel to meet more of your ‘musts’/requirements?

    7. must have room for 2 x 120lt eskys (under seat frames).
    * Normally can be added ‘relatively easily’.

    8. would like glass over plate ( not a show stopper but i do like glass).

    9. would like to be able to boil a cuppa ( absolutely not negotiable if i can't boil a cuppa i can't buy it).
    * See #3, but as tenzing has shown, anything is possible if not there to start with.

    10. would like fresh water (not lots just some , cuppa and wash face/hands)).
    * Bladders are easy and cheapish, but you can sometimes incorporate off-the-shelf tanks into available spaces etc.

    11. would like toes holds under side pockets.
    * Standard in some brands, but surprisingly not in some ‘supposed’ fishing boats. This is a must for me too.

    12. would like built in tackle storage.
    * Normally can easily be added.

So I recon I'm looking for 6-7m glass half cab with a mid range four stroke on a multi rolla trailer less than 10 yrs old or there abouts...
Trailerable beam? or over-width beam ok?? Plenty of petrol boats to 7m will provide lots/all of your ‘musts’, but will all be way down on your economy requirement (50% or possibly less when ‘outside’ with a decent load and average conditions).

Probably the best thing to do, other than keep looking online, is to visit as many yards (new & used) and look/touch/feel many different boats. This will weed out some in your searches. Remember too that with today’s model naming methodology some 'y.x' m brand boats will fit inside, and rattle around in, some other brands 'y.x' m boats. Real size, weight, power and economy are all related. Want bigger, with more bang for your buck (& less bang for your back), will cost you in $$'s, weight and fuel.

If you can’t find what you see online to look at locally, but you know some local Ausfisher’s have those boats, just send them a PM – been done plenty of times before, me included (both ways). Sitting in a boat, even on land, sucking on a cold beer and chewing a bit of fat about boats is always fun.

    Good luck!

    Cheers
    Brendon

Jenny! No way just one of those butane cartridge jobs and a kettle. If we're talking coffee and u won't go instant try plunger or stove top expresso. Good for frypan also.
If u want a BBQ get the double one with hotplate in a suitcase from Super cheap auto (new compliant ones) fits on baitboard or on dash.
    And thermos's do work well.
Work backwards on fuel. 2km per litre bit hard. 1nm (1.6klm ) per litre more achievable (offshore capable remember) in good combos with good motors. 2klm per litre looking at too low HP, not big enough boat.

Re: NBT new boat itch, i got it bad.

Get back into that diesel inboard for a reinspection mate, or something else with similar engine system.
That's the only way to get the economy you are looking for the size of the boat.

Originally thought that i had compiled at good list but a lot of good Q? have been raised about my preferences so I will provide some more clarity on my wish list.

    • must be offshore capable I navigate in reasonably reasonable manner I am not adverse to "slowing down " to save my old body some grief and driving to conditions, but i have also been know to depart moolooabar and end up fishing double island so the boat needs reasonable range and seaworthiness.
    • must ride comfortable ( i don't want to feel broken after a fishing trip) see above I dont mind long hauls but i like to not ache the next day.
    • must have a toilet/porta potty , i could say it is for the wife and most times it is. butt at 50 i am over hangin the clackker over side if i need to.
    • must have a full canopy that doesn't impact fishing to much ( getting to old to be touched up by the sun) plenty of options again more $$
    • must be able to be handled one up ( not often but when I get the chance i want to go ...no excuses) launch from scarby or sunshine coast always from a ramp, but this is one of my most important considerations as i age i still want to launch solo if necessary, if i cant put it in the water it becomes a very expensive garden gnome.
    • must have economy of 2km per liter or better at cruise ( for the days when I'm paying for everything), in fair to good conditions. it is possible and it will be even more critical as fuel prices go up in the years to come. we were getting 1NM to ltr in the 80-'s
    • must have room for 2 x 120lt eskys (under seat frames) again lots of custom options but cheaper if it comes that way standard.
    • would like glass over plate ( not a show stopper but i do like glass)
    • would like to be able to boil a cuppa ( absolutely not negotiable if i can't boil a cuppa i can't buy it). lets not make this bigger than what it is. I want a cup of tea in the morning. I dont need a BBQ or anything flash but i did like tenzings left field approach good thinking.
    • would like fresh water (not lots just some , cuppa and wash face/hands))again a bladder would be good but i have also seen some neat jerry can setups with in line pumps in seat boxes or side pockets. again if it stanard it will probably be cheaper and work better.
    • would like toes holds under side pockets no explanation required.
    • would like built in tackle storage no explanation required

so anyone know of a BMT that fits the bill?

As I see it BigE, there is nothing that is a sticking point apart from this. Apart from a few recent reports with the newest gen 4 cylinder 150 - 200Hp four strokes, one report from a member here with a Victory running a 225 Honda and "specialty low horsepower hulls like your longboat, most "typical" offshore rigs, 6 metres or better, will be achieving 1.7 -1.8 at absolute best from my experience with a lot of them down around 1-1.4 km/L

I do have to ask - what were you running in the 80's that was achieving 1Nm (1.8kms) per litre?

Boys are onto it. Maybe a diesel is your best option for range and cheap running.

You'd have to redo his seats. I am a fan of these boats though. If you want comfort you need a hard top and if you go an alloy boat and you want it nice to sleep in and less bangy you need the monkey fur lining. Mine was great to sleep in. You'd just need to make a bunk infill for this one. Porta potti fitted in my footwell and then I had a privacy curtain made up. 150 4 strokes on alloy boats are going to be the only way to get your 1nm/l I reckon. Take one for a drive, they don't hurt. I put tabs on mine too so I could plane at 10-12knots and just plod along in anything without any handling vices.

More coin but a better alloy trailer and done no work.

Stabis don't meet your criteria for toe holds though. They do have massive side pockets and high gunnels though. The storage is massive. I had more storage in my 609 than my current 7.7m boat. You can see in those pics the under bunk storage is good and then mine had massive cabin side pockets too.

This is the Skippercraft Archer mentioned up the page a bit. It is worth a look. It has the seat boxes and a lot of good stuff. I am still a hard top fan though.

Yes I think to get that kind of fuel economy you need to go with a very modern engine. I get +2km/L, but I had to fork out for a brand new engine. I know a pro fisho who has new twin yamaha 100's and he claims the fuel decrease was incredible compared to his older model 100 yam 4 strokes.

Wildfish when u say 2klm per litre are you talking at cruise? Or total for whole day. What do you burn per hour at 25 knots or whatever you cruise at? Because reports I have read from the 3l 150 and even the 135 have been less. My friend has one of these on a platey and his real time read out is 1nm per L if he's lucky.

Re: NBT new boat itch, i got it bad.

Sorry if the fuel thing is causing some angst , I m talking 2km to the ltr at cruise in a good sea ( what i would call normal use ) not flat out not battling a huge swell or the usage for the entire running time. ( although for me it probable is as i run to a spot and anchor not much pottering around and i don't troll)

    Scottar ....
dont crucify me on the detail ( the 80's were a lot of beers ago) ran a swift craft Dominator (about 18 ft i think)with a 140 suzuki (2stroke ) which was very economical with very bad electrics and a cruise craft (either rambler or a ranger cant remember which) with a 140 Yamaha V4 from what i recall both ran at 2K to the ltr. not a common feat in those days i grant you. also had a black max that could drink fuel faster than you could pour it in.

Maybe i've spent to long in the Goodwin it gets closer to 3k's to the ltr.
