Anyone know how long it takes to get to tipplers from say putting a boat in at Jabiru island or runaway bay on the Gold Coast ?
Recently upgraded my boat from a tinny to a older glass boat and keen for a family day out, might go up there for a look.
I carry 90 litres of fuel with me and I expect that should be enough in a 1996 90hp Merc 2 stroke to get there and back.

Its about 9 or 10 NM from Runaway Bay so call it 20 km each way. How long depends on how fast you travel.
If your going on a weekend beware of the bigger boat wakes that can bounce your passengers / kids around.
90 lt will be fine
If your eating at the cafe you can look up the menu on line
Had fish and chips with local snapper last trip not long ago and the fish was very soft so not sure who was cooking but it was not as good as it has been in the past.

Went yesty made it there and back gave the kids a small tube and still hadn't used a tank which is 45 litres, cheers.
Some big waves out there in the middle when the big boats get up their speed

Nar we took esky, we will next time though it was packed mate, we got there say 1130 and left at 300 and it was very busy most of that time.

Went out there for a look on Australia Day - absolute chaos. Camping ground looked like a tent city and boats,jetskis, kayaks etc going in all directions. Need eyes in the back of your head.Originally Posted by Mark0
