Gee that would put you off for a while pretty bloody unlucky.
Yeah right, that could happen.
Kind of more likely the fuel leak was ignited, stopping the motor, of course, I wasn't there, but I can't see hitting something would stop the motor, break a fuel line and flip a spark plug cap off (or whatever sequence it happened in) that said, I have had two outboard fires, neither of which was a whole lot of fun!
bit off topic... but can i ask randell what its like living and boating in gladstone?? i always wanted to live further north been a city brissie boy most of my life..
From all the "mishaps" that Randall seems to find in the local rag, it would seem it's a bit bloody dangerous. Not sure quick thinking is the right term. Keeping your fire extinguisher buried under all your lifejackets isn't really thinking period.
I'm in Bundy and have enjoyed cruising the rivers and creeks in my canoe with 3.5 merc. Looking for a small punt now so I can stretch my legs and stand up. I get a few fish, one thing on the bad side is that is always windy up here....... 80% of the time anyway.
I read the Qld coast online newspapers most mornings, there's always something happening.......
cheers
randell..
