The best outboard is a Suzy DF175... because it's going to be on the back of my new Bar Crusher 670

Had a couple of Yamaha 4 strokes with no issue but if I were buying new between 60 and 150hp I reckon I would lean toward the new mercs.

340kg according to their web. 2.0l intercooled turbo diesel. With a number of euro car diesels now using alloy blocks and lower static compression ratios you could easily see that figure lose at least 80kg in the next few years, probably more. 200hp and 400nm of torque! Offshore weapon?

Thanks swof63. 340kg, that's alot of kg's for 200HP. They better hope it can be reduced.

If they can manage to dump 80-100kg off that they should make a major dent in the market in that HP range.

So long as the americans haven't a hand in it then its the outboard that gets you to the fish. Althoughi have to admit a small soft spot for the bike V-tec Honda's, reliable, quick and a lovely sound to them. shame about the solver but you can't have it all.

Just to clarify, both versions are supercharged, it's just that one is in a higher state of tune.
