Had a interstate visitor for a few days, who loves his fishing, and keen to get out, so I jagged a day off work, and hit the river. I was worried that the river may have shut down with the rain, and colder temperatures.
Dodging showers, and howling wind (tough conditions) we hit the river at about 7.30 am. I was pleasantly surprised not only at the number of Flathead around, but also the quality. Only 2 undersize fish all day.
Best lure of the day, the Samaki Vibelicious, 70 mm, forked tail, however the old faithful bloodworm wriggler also accounted for a very nice fish.
We ate like kings that night, ya gotta love fresh flattie...yum!
Only just started fishing the area recently so good to see a positive report. Much better than my own efforts a couple of weeks ago so helps to provide the incentive to learn the area.
