    Re: Suzuki Service

Another +1 for Jeffers Motorsport Marine, I bought my Suzy 115 there about 3yrs ago and had it serviced by them ever since. Always helpful and informative.

Which reminds me she's due for a service

[QUOTE=PixieAU;1612470]Goes against other reports. Care to share our just leave it hanging?[/QUOTE

I had a oil leek coming from the driven gear in my df200 that needed to be fixed as I was selling the boat also wanted thermostat changed and computer printout for new owner . spoke to them on the phone explained where the leek was coming from and we're happy to do the job as I live on Southside of Brisbane I towed the boat up to them after hearing good things about their service ... That morning on drop off explained the leek to one of the mechanics along with thermostats also asked if oil and filter foul be changed .. Asked if it would be done in a day as I'll go up the coast for the day and tow it back home later that day .. Yer no probs it will be done by 4 .. I called at 2 and was told ready at 4.30. All good I asked the secretary said that there were no problems ... Get there to pick up my boat as they we're degreasing walked straight to the motor and started it only to find the leek had not been done and still weeping when motor was running.. The mechanics response was we looked at it this morning and couldn't see a leek my response where do you think all the oil build up has came from then ? Yer we didn't see the leek until we degrease it and ran the motor ..WTF...what was done then ? Thermostats oil and filter ... At that time Keith drove into workshop and I asked what's going on .. Anyway after a bit of BS and excuses I said what do I owe you I just wanted to go home...he gave me a bill for thermostat/oil/filter and labour ... I said iam not paying for the oil as it has to be dumped to do the oil leek .. His reply when you bring it back next week we will save the oil and reuse it .. I laughed and said you won't be getting this back or my money ever again .. He gave me a $20 discount on labour and I paid about $280 from memory and drove home pissed off ..

Rang John at bay side marine and explained the leek and booked the boat in with him 3 weeks later John was very good and knew exactly where the leek was comming from ..
I went had a look once he had pulled the motor down to find water had been getting in past the seal and doing more than expected damaged to other bearings.
Anyway long story short I rebuilt the Bottom end for the new owner
and yes new oil at another $70 that I paid for 3 weeks earlier

Bay side marine were excellent and got the job done within a few days ready for the new owner who was coming up from Sydney to pick the boat up

    Re: Suzuki Service

Thanks all for your help and advice. Ended up booking it into Northcoast Motorsport at Caloundra (A predominantly Yamaha dealer that now also a Suzuki Marine dealer after Caloundra Marine left) who get a Suzuki Marine mechanic in every couple of weeks. Will have to find out if its 'Keith' that comes up and does the job.

    Thanks again.
