Tig Welding - Painted Aluminium Boat with Motor Attached
Hey,
I've got a painted aluminium boat that I wish to do some welding on and was hoping someone in the trade could help me, seeing that I haven't welded on a boat before, only on a work bench.
One of the areas I wanted to weld was the transducer bracket on the transom - it has plenty of holes in it now
However the bracket is only 30cm or so from the motor and is also painted.
The big question is, can I weld on the boat with the motor still on? and if so, how much paint needs to be removed around the holes I was going to plug?
Re: Tig Welding - Painted Aluminium Boat with Motor Attached
I have had my boat welded with the motor on just disconnected the battery you should only have to take the paint off just a bit bigger then the area you are going to weld
