Was trying to take advantage of a calm day before a long windy week again.
Plan was to chase some cod and large mouth nannygai in the bay, possibly score longtail on surface.
Calm morning to cross the bay.
Couple of drifts at spot1, no bait.
Tried a marker, full of bait but hardly can bring up any due to schools mackarels.
never seen so many mackarels on a channel marker before.
Got some live bait and left the toothy creatures alone.
Back to spot1 and anchored up with heavy burley.
Up comes a 4.5kg nanny followed by 3kg version.
Average size mackarel in the box also.
Largest hammerhead shark I have seen appeared soon after, close to 15ft, increadible sight.
He kept cruising 20mt behind the boat in an out of burley line and hooked on to one of my live baits.
On 80lbs mono I pulled him as hard as I can, he didnt even budgeand cut me off after a quick fight
Things went quite after shark adventure, moved to spot2 and get ready for cod action.
One of my livie deep down went off, big fish, couldnt even get the rod out of holder, tip of the rod was almost touching the water and cut me off on the bottom quickly.
Saw some birds working on a windlane, decided to move on for surface action.
School mackarels were working but no tuna.
Left the toothy creatures alone and headed home back to work.
Beautiful day on the water, half the morning was glassed out.
Fish for dinner.
