what software are you running on your 1020xs?
I've just acquired a new GT21TM transducer to make better use of the features on the new Garmin 1020XS head unit. After picking around pulling the old one out and installing the new one (should have tested it before I know), the head unit doesn't want to recognise the transducer.
Any tips on where I may have gone wrong?
Cheers
Chris

The orginal software that came with the unit Moose. Should that matter?

can do. id update it "lots and lots of things have been fixed and added since the 1020xs original software"
http://www8.garmin.com/support/downl...ls.jsp?id=8743
including support for the GT transducers
Thanks Moose, Spanyard King also advised me to do the update and it worked perfectly. It didn't even cross my mind as I'd assumed that tranny was out when the unit was released.
cant wait to get it out for a run. Do you have any experience with them in up to 100m of water?

deepest ive been with the same transducer was 55mt. but i have been on a boat with a 820xs running a p66 600w transducer off lakes entrance in 200+ . it performed pretty well we started to get somewhat ambigious results at the 100mt mark, but the surface fish at 50mt was pretty good.
