I guess I don't know my own back yard. I have friends coming next month and they want to step ashore at Mudgimba Island, never having done that I think I would enjoy the experience, driven past it many times, but never thought to put foot on it. I have a 6 m glass boat, so is it possible and where would the best place be to land. I also have a tinnie so in good weather this would also work if a glass boat wouldn't be suitable. Thanks in advance.
never been on it, it looks way to rocky but i would recommend tendering but if u must, come in from tail of the island, it looks like a dead whale

I havent landed on it personally but have asked the question of a few locals when I lived there, its looks like an inviting place from a distance, nice green hill to have a wee picnic on but in reality is densely covered scrapy bush and hard to get around the island, you mainly have to stick to the rocks, but there is an old hut on there too somehwhere. What I'm saying is you may be better going somewhere else, along the river perhaps.
Seems problem solved, going to pub instead.
I've gone there on surf ski a few times there is a little rocky inlet on the north western corner just almost opposite the hut. The spot is only big enough to get the tiniest tinny or ski into and requires virtually no swell and good timing. There used to be some anchors in the rock there that were used to secure a boat by the old inhabitants who had the lease . You could alway anchor up and swim in I would advise wearing shoes and approach from the northern end.
I've been there while spear fishing, not much to see just the little hut. the main headland is pretty inaccessible due to the shrubby vegetation. But if it's on your bucket list why not.
