Have a look under the cav plate and look for the little fin/anode if it has just started being hard to steer it may have come loose and fallen off...........If it has always been hard to steer you may just need to give it a little "tweek'.

You could start by greasing it via the nipple and then look at the nut that tightens steering on shaft, it may need loosening..

Check the rubber engine mounts....should be three of them.....if one lets go it sits crooked and hard to steer.

How much grease did you pump in - does the motor have an upper and lower nipple on the steering tube? Mates motor did this - pumped half a grease gun into it to fix it. As mentioned also check the mounts.
