Caravan/Trailer Wiring ;
The following is the Standard for wiring for trailer and caravans. ; ; Some older plugs are still around and don't always comply with this standard, Important to check that the Car and Carava/Trailers are wired Correctly. Correct wiring is not only for comatability of other vehicles towing but also as a safety measure.
One very important fact to remember is that it is the WHITE wire is ALWAYS the earth in trailer wiring not the green or black wires.

Something does not gel you say one light is working but the other is not yet the test indicator says that none of the lights should be working.
My first thought is that you have a problem where the cables from each set of lights are joined together
Check your wireing colours and pin numbers. it may be that the pin in the socket may need spreading slightly ( Use a fine tipped screwdriver or the tip of a knife).
do you have seperate cables coming from each light all the way to the plug with the wires commoned in the screw terminals in the plug or are they joined somewhere else..
Try taking the brown wire off the centr4e terminal in the plug and connecting it to terminal 1 ( Remove the yellow wire) and turn on your left indicator and see if both tail lights flash that bwill prove the wiring and the lights..
