    Re: Lowrance/simrad christmas updates

I downloaded and installed the update for my Simrad GO7 yesterday.

After I got the GO7 a few months ago, i discovered that the sounder software was a somewhat cut-down version of the NSS evo2 software, it was missing some of the more advanced options such as ability to adjust ping rate, scroll speed and TVR for the CHIRP. It also didnt have options like split screen with bottom lock.

Well, i installed this latest update and voila! All these options are now there on my GO7! None of that was mentioned in the release notes but needless to say, im very happy with the result.

I am just waiting now until Airmar releases fheir new CHIRP transducers with integrated downscan, so i can give the HDI tranducer the flick and get proper CHIRP performance out of the GO7.
Note to self: Don't argue with an idiot. They will only bring you down to their level and beat you with experience....

    Thanks for advising.

I've just turned my HDS9Gen3 on to do a manual update, and it's done an auto update.

    Merry Xmas to all

    regards Steve

    Re: Lowrance/simrad christmas updates

Thanks moose , while I got you, hope this is not bad educate, I have a nss evo 12 with the BM150 transducer.
As you'd realise, you can only use 83 and not the medium chirp together so I do find this troublesome!
Also thinking of replacing with a through hull transducer.
Most work is dome in Morton bay, and on good days outside up to 100 m
Like to say I can explore desperate now I have an electric reel but seems this will be rarer.
What would you recommend and why , mate
