    Painter line clip ?

Does anyone know the name for the "clip" in the photo? Used to hook the painter line to the anchor rope. Thanks Leigh

Are you talking about home made versions of the 'ezy lift' line clip?

No, i have one of those for retrieval. The one in the photo locks onto the anchor line. From memory they where purchased from BIAS 10 years ago. My mate owns the one in the photo, i left mine on a boat i sold about 8 years ago. Now want another.

    Re: Painter line clip ?

When you anchor from the cockpit area, you have a short line "painter line" from the bow to the cockpit, when you drop the anchor you hook this on to the main line and it then holds from the bow. The remaining anchor line stays in the rope box.

They were for anchor retrieval too if I remember? Squeeze the two long prongs together and a staino ring drops over? They were the forerunner to the ezy lift? I had one for clipping on the float.

Those ezy lift clips are too hard on silver rope, stuf up the warp lay. I find a stainless steel split ring that you can slip on a off anywhere along the rope far better and they slide easier too without unwinding the warp. And don't suggest I have the line in upside down please!

I just tie a bowline. The clip would be a bit quicker I guess.
